The Multi-Needle Mastery Series sessions are designed to address the most frequently asked operations on a multi needle machine after initial training: In this session we will be looking at positioning on a Brother/Babylock 10 needle machine:
PREREQUISITE: You should be familiar with the operation of your machine, know how to thread it, know how to use the included hoops etc. This is not a “get to know” your machine class.
Please have all your included hoops and your A arm and your B arm handy along with any other after market hoops you might already have like “Durkee Hoops” “Fast Frames” or “Mighty Hoops”
In this 3 hour session we will be covering all things positioning! We will start with comparing the difference between snowman positioning, using the scanning feature, and live camera view. We’ll take a closer look at “camera pattern connection”, a great feature for successfully hooping continuous designs. I will also show how to utilize a jumbo hoop for those fabulous split jacket back designs!
We’ll move onto the practical applications. We will hoop a piece of fabric with a pocket traced on it (the pocket image is provided for you to print out and trace on the fabric), we will position a name on the very top of the pocket using the snowman marker. We will use the scanning feature to double check that position and then we will use live camera view to look again!
You will learn how to use the different camera options to hoop a sleeve with a Durkee hoop so you can stitch a name, hoop a t-shirt/sweatshirt and curve lettering around the neckline, hoop a baby onesie and hoop a beanie on a Durkee hoop to get that pro finish with stabilization and design choices! I just acquired the Durkee name frame so I will be showing that one as well: great for dog collars, leashes, bag straps, key fobs and other strappy things with webbing.
We will not be doing a lot of stitching in this class, maybe just some light stitching; thread up with 10 different colors (IN ANY ORDER ON THE MACHINE) and a white pre wound bobbin.
This class includes the use of the included hoops including Brother/Babylock accessory hoops and also the Durkee EZ hoops.
