This is a free Sew Along for the Little Friends pouch. I will be using a seperate lining fabric than the one included on the panel. I liked the idea of having two pouches instead of just the one. I have linked the Minki Kim video to the supply list below if you prefer to do yours exactly as she does :-)
I will be quilting in class using the handlook specialty stitch on the Luminaire/Solaris/Stellaire XJ2/Altair 2. If your machine does not have that stitch then you can use a straight stitch.
Supply list is below anlong with some of my tips and thoughts. We will be stitching the entire bag in the sew along.
The Bloomberry panel comes with 2 pieces titled the little Friend Pouch. From the start I thought I would rather have 2 pouches than just one pouch. In the linked video Minki Kim uses fabric from the Bloomberry collection as her lining. You could just use the two pieces to create one pouch if you wish. In that case I would do all the quilting before adding the lining. It will be easier to match the two pieces since in theory they are the same shape. If you just want to use lining you can quilt through all three and trim the lining after quilting. In my sew along video I will be staging as if to make 2 pouches and using fabric for lining. I will be doing the quilting by machine using one of the specialty stitches available on the Stellaire XJ2 (OR XJ1 with upgrade) or the Luminaire. The same for the Babylock models. These stitches look like hand quilting from the front but not on the back. So I if you don't think you are going to like it then you can quilt the front using a piece of muslin on the back and then attache the lining after the quilting is done.
This project requires the following: the zipper strips and the tab strips, along with the Little friends front and back panels.

Ironing supplies

-
A piece of muslin or scrap fabric the same size as the Little Friends pouch if you are going to use the specialty stitch I will be showing during the sew along to quilt and prefer to hide the back with lining fabric.
-
1 yd of backing fabric for all the pouches and coasters on the panel. I also saved the "Bloomberry: logo nad any scraps and made a Swing and Sling bag :-) The panel is designed with a front and a lining section. I chose to use the lining section as an additional pouch. If you wish to do the same then you will need lining fabric for all of the pouches.
